24 computers (up to 64 computers with adapters) can share 8 Centronics or RS-232 printers with the AS-248 network by means of 4-wire phone lines. With AS-248T & AS-248ST connecting to PCs and AS-248R & AS-248SR connecting printers in a Bus, Star or Tree topology, this power-free network eliminates multiple auto switches and tangled cables. Suitable for all user levels.
An optional system accessory is the EA-100. It provides an accessible switch for printer selection
that bypasses software and features 366M (1200') maximum network length, 22 Kbps maximum data throughput and simultaneous printing capability. Functions include auto/manual printer selection, form feed enable/disable and time-out.
Flash/Net composes of the following members:
AS-248T: A Transmitter from PC's Centronics port to the network.
AS-248ST: A Transmitter from PC's RS-232 port to the network.
AS-248R: A Receiver from the network to Centronics printer.
AS-248SR: A Receiver from the network to RS-232 printer.
AS-248B: Same as AS-248R with built-in compression buffer.
EA-100: A manual controller for printer selection.
