Enables access and control of up to 16 or 32 UNIX servers, routers, switches and other serially managed devices.
Dominion is a family of automated management appliances that provide secure, remote
out-of-band access to up to 32 target servers and network devices via the serial ports, over IP from any Web browser, anywhere in the world. Dominion works in heterogeneous network
environments, and enables more than just access; it provides true device management through its monitoring, notification, and scripting capabilities:
- Monitoring: Dominion enables active monitoring of the status of each target device to which it is connected
- Notification: Dominion can send notifications to IT managers to alert them to a change in status of a target device
- Scripting: Dominion enables IT managers to write and run notification scripts via TCL and roll them out to the target devices
Not just access, but true management of servers and network devices
Dominion provides secure, remote out-of-band access and control of up to 32 target devices from
any Web browser, anywhere in the world. Dominion enables more than just access; it provides true device management through active monitoring of the status of each target device to which it
is connected; notifications to IT managers to alert them to a change in status of a target device; and by enabling IT managers to write and run notification scripts via TCL and roll them out to the
target devices.
A full line for anytime, anywhere control
The Dominion line consists of two models, each contained in a sleek, rack-mountable
1U chassis with simplified power and communication connections:
- Dominion x16 enables a user to access up to 16 target devices
- Dominion x32 enables a user to access up to 32 target devices
Dominion enables remote access to any target device that supports RS232 serial/console communication – anything from a server to a router to a firewall to a load balancer. Dominion
uses standard Web and Java applet technology to provide console window access (VT100 terminal emulation) to the user from any supported browser located anywhere in the world.
Administrators can diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair devices from a remote PC, reducing mean time to repair (MTTR), as well as eliminating the need to physically visit the data center.
Unique Command Line Interface
For greater flexibility of device access, Dominion features a unique command line interface that
gives IT managers direct command line access to the target device, similar to secure telnet or SSH connectivity.
Dominion is ideal for large data center environments like corporate IT facilities, managed service providers and Internet hosting centers, as well as for small remote offices.
